If you have to drive that far out to get to a movie theater then you are probably not their target audience anyway.
Nothing against those who live in small isolated towns, but it's not for me.

Regardless of your post, I just want to talk about commercials in general.
They don't resemble reality at all except maybe Buffalo Wild Wings and two fat white dorks watching football munching on wings and drinking pitchers.
But most other commercials are liberal fantasy land like old Benneton commercials...where everybody has a stable of friends that includes:
One Chinese girl
Two "Latino" guys
One Black girl
Three White girls
One Black guy
And the white guy is the gay guy (you can tell from the photo, he's super-excited)
I try to make friends in this order to better represent what reality should be according to TV.

I think the whole point of this thread is that there are certain things out there that are society norms.
A small percentage of couple in the US are interracial. A small percentage of people are gay and an even smaller percentage of people are transgender.
So if you make 100 commercials for network TV if would be strange if 25% of the couple depicted are interracial or if 5 out of 15 new sitcoms have a gay character.
My favorite is when things are changed from a book to be more PC. It may be off topic, but similar in nature.
The new Movie--Welcome to Marwen. In the original book the character was jumped by a gang of Black guys. For the movie they changed it to Nazi Skinheads.
In the Disney movie "a wrinkle in time" the main character was White and was changed to a black girl for the movie.
Our movies change characters from white to Hispanic all the time.
The remake of Magnum had to make the Higgins character a woman.

That may be true for older married couples, but among the new generation it is commonplace. My son and stepdaughter are both around 25, white, and were raised in upper middle class Republican households. My stepdaughter only dates black guys. My son’s girlfriend has a son from a black guy. Several of their friends are in interracial relationships. It is commonplace.
