Why was Pelosi still in the Speaker’s office 9 months after not being Speaker?
She wasn’t.

Repeating this sort of absolutely-false nonsense is a big part of why we have so much conflict

Pelosi's "main" DC office is (and has been for years) located in the Longworth House Office Building, near the Capitol. There are only a small handful of offices available in the Capitol itself, and they are usually reserved as secondary offices for those in leadership positions. For unknown reasons, these are called "Hideaway" offices and (again) they are few in number. As a Speaker Emeritus, McCarthy apparently allowed her to retain one of those "Hideaway" offices in the Capitol building.

Pelosi does not hold a leadership position at this time, and the new GOP leadership decided that she did not need the secondary office. Hakeem Jeffries is now the Dem leader in the House, and I suspect that he still has a secondary office in the Capitol building, in addition to his main office suite in one of the adjacent office buildings.
