Which is why they went off of convictions. Good, old fashioned comparable numerators. We know a rough % of the population as illegal immigrants in various locations due to the census, so yay good denominator too!

Illegal immigrants sound awesome compared to everyone else here. We need to let in 50million per year, and kick out the legal citizens, so then the US will really prosper. It’d look like a mix of Honduras and Wakanda but better.

Look, if you're right, then it should be pretty easy to find some data supporting your premise. Nearly everything I've ever seen on the topic suggests that illegal immigrant populations in the US have equal or lower violent crime rates than the native citizenry. But please, cite something that says different.
And citing Levin isn't a good idea.

honestly the whole conversation vis a vis illegal immigrants and crime is irrelevant. We need to exercise control over our borders for a variety of reasons.

Correct. There are a variety of good reasons to support massive immigration reform. The problem is that Republicans are retarded and want to push forth emotional arguments that are losers when the numbers are revealed.

First of all, the "numbers" in this case are very rough approximations at best. Hardly something to plant the flag of victory in.
Second, the fact that Republicans are bad at selling it is not the reasons Democrats oppose the idea of robust border security.
