re: I'm never having kids. All my Gen Z friends agree — we won't be parents in a world .....

Yes, Gen X was a generation of totally awful parents. Maybe worst ever.
Boomers still living in their blissful cognitive dissonance. No responsibility. Everything is someone else's fault.

Is this supposed to be aimed at me?

it depends on what your reasons are.
Of course it does.
Claiming that you aren’t having kids because you “literally can’t even imagine bringing someone into this world” (a world that is far better than any prior time in history by every possible metric for all people worldwide) is what I am addressing. That faux wisdom should be slapped down and does not = mother fricking Theresa

Absolutely. Boomers say all the right words but spend five minutes checking with their kids and lifestyles and you'll see their self absorbed nihilism which leads directly to where we are now.

I'm ok with that. Let the conservative Christians have the kids and the ones that worry about climate change not.

I’m not a boomer. Or even close.

Your prior post where you said Gen X was the worst? That's nonsense.

I said that Gen X was possibly the worst parent generation in history (meaning US history). Yes.
I stand by that.
I have no idea why you said anything about boomers.
This current generation of teens and 20 something’s was almost exclusively raised by Gen X parents. Those parents, at the macro level, did a really fricking awful job. They, again at the macro level (all that matters for this type of discussion) abdicated actual parenting in favor of letting their little retards raise themselves on the internet.

Clearly cognitive dissonance isn't isolated to a single generation.

Are you going to make your point? I’m not a boomer or a member of Gen X so I’m missing where my dissonance lies

Where did they learn that behavior.
Boomers spent forty years celebrating divorce and finding themselves and letting their kids and then grandkids figure out who they are themselves. That was their stated philosophy. Everything you see comes directly from their nihilism and abdication. I was raised by boomers. Both are insufferable and arrogantly convinced they did a great job and really great at doling out advice from their flaming disaster lives. Same with my in laws. I've spent twenty years shielding my children from their destruction so they can grow up to be normal human beings.

Ok? Who disputed any of that?
Nothing you said disputes the notion that your generation (NOT YOU SPECIFICALLY) raised an absolutely retarded generation of vapid, ignorant, emotional forever-children that don’t understand how life or the world works.

Put the blame where it belongs. Boomers are the worst generation. It will get worse, but Gen X isn't the problem.

I’m not interested in taking an open-ended track back to the beginning of creation.
I’d rather directly address the behavior of the preceding generation and apply that forward. Because I want actual resolution, not just academic introspection. That can come later, after we fix the problem
Gen X did a bad job. Gen X’s children are the ones causing the problems.
