Illinois looks to ban assault weapons

We all feel bad what happened in highland Park last 4th. But we also need to consider just a year earlier Darrell Brooks killed 6 people and wounded many more at the Waukesha Christmas parade not with a gun but with a vehicle. If evil people want to commit mass murder they will find ways. 7 was one too many murdered in Highland Park, but why no outcry when that’s just a regular weekend on the west side of Chicago??!! Also note that most of the guns used are not assault weapons. This will be used to rally for a no gun ownership Illinois. Yes, we have a 2nd amendment but with the left in power I am not too confident in my rights.

I mean the SAFET act was signed by gov fat arse today. You could have an illegal gun, even harm someone and get out of jail with cash bail. So I really don’t understand the argument overall.

Knee jerk laws. It makes opponents of guns “feel good” while all it does is push us into a corner slowly. Today assault rifles. Tomorrow rifles then next week guns in general.

Most libs think AR means automatic or assault rifle when it’s actually the initials of the company that pioneered that type of gun in the 50’s. But hey it looks scary.
