True. If they can’t seem to set aside enough to cover the expense of continuing to detain someone three days, that is a big issue for a state. Is it really wise to jeopardize all that sweet federal funding for law enforcement they get by thumbing their nose at such an inexpensive request?

No I won’t accept 11 million because they have been using that same number since the late 1990’s. There are likely 11 million here from Mexico and Central America alone not counting any from South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. You can see how someone could be skeptical.

"Not being required to," and "Intentionally circumventing" aren't the same. I don't want to sound like a dick, maybe you do actually CARE about helping immigrants, IDK, but this "Humanitarian" cause, is adversely affecting Legitimate U.S. Citizens, and they come first. What type of Country can survive by neglecting its own citizens in favor of votes and maintaining power? We all know the answer. Granting illegals access to driver licenses stands to make law enforcement easier and roads safer. Pending all other factors, of course, this benefits a state and its citizens and legals.

Ok, understood. And, if the "Driver's License" does not allow them to vote, and it would need to be tied to say, a DNA database that keeps track of illegals(waiting for legal citizenship)and allows them to pay income tax, would you be ok with that?
