I wish there was a rational way to explain to the Left that this is who MN and other states where ICE has had to perform sweeps is protecting. The states protect all illegal immigrants the good and the bad because they see them as numbers. Numbers means more grant money from being a sanctuary city, and more electoral votes because the population is inflated. If these areas complied with the FED to deport the ones who are breaking laws, then the sweeps would be minimized and illegal immigrants trying to assimilate would largely be left alone unless they were in a bad spot. The areas where the state and municipalities have worked with ICE saw ICE come in, help get the ones that have no desire to assimilate out, and then they move on. In areas like MN where the state and local govt have told the FED to f themselves, it turns into full sweeps where ICE gets more involved and we get the sob stories where people that were trying to assimilate get caught up in them.

Power and money, those with it will do and say whatever to maintain or get more of it.
