I agree this area is probably the safest place in the US to be if society were to collapse. Starting with Bonner county on the north side of the Priest River and Lake Pend Oreille. Even better and more remote is Boundary County. Population density is very low in these areas, building permits are not required, average rainfall is heavier, water quality is excellent, growing season 120 to 180 days, corruption and crime are low, gun liberty is excellent (no permits currently required to purchase firearms, open and concealed weapon s without a permit, stand your ground laws). Just be on the lookout for Grizzly Bears the closer you are to Canada.
