IDAHO'S #BURNTHEMASK RALLY

Idaho is attempting to pass legislation that would make it illegal for government entities to enforce mask mandates -- something folks there are celebrating by rolling out burn barrels and having their children fan the flames with actual face coverings.
The supposed state-wide protest happening Saturday is being dubbed #FreeIdaho or #BurnTheMask -- and it was organized, in part, by Idaho State Representatives Dorothy Moon and Heather Scott ... who plugged the event earlier this week in a joint video they filmed.
The politicians say they support the "grassroots" movement to show disapproval of different mandates that have gone into effect across the state over the past year. There's no state-wide mask mandate, but about 9 counties and 10 ID cities have such emergency orders.

God bless Idaho.
One of the last healthy normal places in this country.

Marijuana laws are way too harsh there, but it is beautiful.

Idaho has really healthy values.
I was back in Utah recently, and small town values came up in conversation.
The man i was speaking with had moved to a little town outside of SLC, and whenever he told people his street address, they would ask him who his neighbors were.
A street address didn’t mean anything to them.
They saw the town as a group of families, and so you didn’t live on Main Street. You lived between the Smith house, and the Thompson house.
When Christmas came, his neighbors dropped by, and left gifts.
Idaho is like that too, and the values that produced that kind of community, are the ones that also created harsh laws against marijuana.

They don’t want all the dopers from CO, WA and OR ruining their state.

Finally got a purchase agreement on a house in Idaho last month. Moving in two weeks. I'm excited.

I'm afraid of Idaho winters ... but I may be able to overcome that fear.

Not as bad as you think, and better than the bugs and the sticky summers.

People will judge you for having Colorado plates. It’s real.

It's pretty eerie to watch ... because the kids, who probably don't know any better, laugh with glee as they get rounds of applause for each time they throw a mask into the embers.
Eerie to watch? Nah, it’s uplifting AF.

Reminiscent of Nazi book burning rallies.

Was at a wedding in Couer D’Alene in February and it wasn’t that bad. I could live there

I think it's actually really pleasant

I had a job pretty much lined up there when I retired but my wife put the brakes on it. She now admits it would’ve been better for the kids’ to get them out of the dirty south. Live and learn.

They’re burning masks, not Seuss books.
