No question he is a polarizing figure, but now he's an incumbent. All the anti-ACA passion in the world didn't help very unobjectionable Mitt defeat Obama in 2012. I see Joe very much in the same vein as Mitt in 2012 or Dole in 1996 - an old soldier given the nod to joust at a windmill.
Over the last 70 years, Americans were given the opportunity turn out a sitting President a whopping TEN TIMES (1948, 1956, 1972, 1964, 1980, 1984, 1992, 1996, 2004 and 2012) - they only made the choice to change twice - 1980 and 1992. Both times the reasons were heavily economic. While 1980 showed the public was wholly unconvinced by Carter as any sort of leader, 1996 was purely an economic decision. HW had the highest approval ratings of any President EVER halfway through his term.
A combination of a phony moderate candidate, an incredible political machine and a failing economy combined to turn out HW - but he would have been unassailable with a better economy in the Summer of 1992.
All the lies about Trump's extremism during the 2016 campaign has to have some fallout, right?
And what about #Blexit? Is that just smoke, or is there some fire to it from your perspective? That won't affect the primaries, but if significant can turn the general, almost by itself.

But one might argue that we live in extraordinary times.

I think the sense is that Trump is a very vulnerable incumbent in spite of the economy. Someone who can flip his Midwest states and put NC and Georgia into play will be formidable.
The problem is that Biden is a garbage human being and Trump will have no problem exposing the numerous skeletons in the VERY ELDER Biden's closet as well as those misdeeds of his horrible kids.

What never ceases to amaze me about you Leftists is your ability to sit in a pile of your own zhit then complain about someone farting 50 feet away...
Your theory ignores the fact that the Democrat Party (Old Man Joe included) have been absolutely EXPOSED as batzhit crazy, violent and dishonest.
No matter how bad Trump is incorrectly portrayed, the Democrats manage to find the only rake in the field and step on it time after time, exposing them in the process.

The democrat nomination is Michele’s to grab if she wants it.
