Help me understand some of the stuff I’ve read in this thread.
The rebels came into the city and were beheading Christians and ripping Christmas trees down.
But also I see stories of people being happy the rebels are there so they can now openly celebrate Christmas.
Which is it?

This trend of attributing every single geo-political occurrence to the cia/deep-state is extremely tiresome.
The only trend is our intelligence agencies creating messes all across the globe.
In Syria, militias armed by the Pentagon fight those armed by the CIA.
Assad and the Kurds are facing off against some of the world’s premiere scumbags and we are knee deep in the mess, all for an oil pipeline.
HTS would still be Al Nusra were it not for petty tactical differences with Al Qaeda and the human excrement that is ISIS is still operating with impunity since the human vegetable took office.

The Baath Party, which rules Syria, was created by a Christian named Michel Aflaq who wanted to establish a secular government. For Aflaq, it was for Christians to escape second class status, and domination by Muslims.
Christians and Alawites (who aren't really Muslims) are the governments core support.
