Because he's a POS. I dealt with him when he was a 1 star deputy CG of 1st CAV at Ft Hood, TX back in the late 90s.

After Katrina, he traveled with his band of troops from Hattiesburg, MS at Camp Shelby to New Orleans. About 100 miles.

He criticized the Military response in Houston and now he is persona non gratis. Spokesperson for Climate Change now.

I agree. The media bucked him up as the savior of New Orleans. Writes books and goes on media circuits about the job he did. Self serving ahole.

He was my division CO in Korea. Gave us the day off after the change of command ceremony so he's alright with me.

He was a trip when he was Warrior 6. I remember an interview he did on AFN Radio when a young Soldier called in to ask a question and they went to a song break shortly there after with the DJ making the comment, "This song came out before Private _____ was born". His response was, "My BOOTS are older than Private ______".

One thing he hated, HATED to see was when Commanders put 2nd Lieutenants in staff positions and not in front of Platoons.

I rotated out about two months after he got there so I don't have much experience with him besides the day off.

He was driving in front of me one morning on my way to LSU near Lauberge. Apparently passing his old, slow arse after we got out of the curves was the most insulting thing to ever happen to him. Started throwing his hands up and yelling (I'd imagine cursing) at me. I just laughed.

Also, Joe Alleva passed me up one morning on the river road as well. Apparently going 70mph in a 55mph zone wasn't fast enough for his lame arse. I guess he was late for a meeting or something. Either that or he's kind of an a-hole.
