Worked for a big global consulting firm for years. Had to interview applicants every fall from Harvard and about 5 other schools including Princeton (and some bigger state schools). We always tried to bring some of the younger employees with a connection to those schools with us but the older guys like me conducted the primary and secondary interviews, ranked the candidates, and made the hiring decisions and office assignments.

I lost my Louisiana accent after years living in the Midwest so it was hard for anyone to tell where I was from. The Harvard applicants were always surprised and kind of disappointed when they found out that the decision to hire them was up to an MBA from a flyover state school like LSU.

Applicants were not better or worse than the ones we brought in from Ohio State or Michigan with similar areas of study. But the Ohio State and Michigan kids usually never looked at me like I was some kind zoo animal.

Right. Keep all the CPAs for state tax returns.
AI and no IRS would eliminate 80% in 5 years.
That is Doge reality not smug.
