Give the Iranians one chance

I am no appeaser by any means. But we won’t get any support at all by just bombing them right now. The world will be against us for sure. So let’s play ball and throw them a bone. Trump already tried this by floating the idea that someone in their military made a mistake. By doing this he gave them a out, they didn’t take it but here is my idea. No Americans died in this drone being shot down but they did destroy our property. So you tell the Iranians. That drone cost 180 million dollars. Give us 180 million and we give you a clean slate. The next time they so much look our way we light them up and it will not be just taking out some missile sites. By doing so the world cannot deny that we tried to do the diplomatic thing. Of course Iran will never go for it. But it gives Trump the upper hand on everyone, we tried twice and they wouldn’t play ball. Then you tell the world to frick off and you blow up some of their refineries and ports.

Getting even is beyond petty. The drone cost 180 million dollars. Figure out how much damage they caused the UAE tankers, add that to the $180 million and double it.
There has to be a disincentive for bad behavior.
Hell, be nice, give them 30 days to think it over, and then just declare the Iranian Navy, anywhere out of port in the Persian Gulf a "menace to navigation" and be done with it. We could do that with just cruise missiles.

I think we ought to treat them just like Israel does. If they hit us, we hit them 10 times harder, that's all those ragheads understand.

And every conservative here needs to rethink this as Obama making the decision to take the drone as a loss.

Me personally, I agree with every single word here. If I had the choice My main targets would be their leadership. Kill as many of them as possible. I am thinking of this as a way to strengthen our position. That way no one can deny that we tried to work it out.

We need an intact Iran as a counterbalance for our Saudi enemies. The Sunnis would very much like to employ our military might to settle their civil war with the Shia. We shouldn't let that happen.
