The only way to do that is advanced tech, which replaces human labor for the most part.

And lots of exports. Trade wars prevent that.

The problem with your take is the "trade wars". We haven't fought a "trade war" for what 35 years? We just rolled over and let other countries have their way with us. We've been a trade whore. That's the establishment you want to continue? We sold our manufacturing sector to the global market so we can get cheap chit. How's that worked out for us? Go buy another 3 year life Chevy and report back.

We lost our way. Our trade stance hasn't been a war. It's been a concession.

We're fighting one now

The Chinese figured out how to still control markets.

Well, we'd better be. Right winger or not, I'm not happy with the quality of product when I go to shop. You seem to like the idea of rolling over for what China wants.

Honest question. Do you think it's proper for the USA to not mine and process rare earth minerals (we have the assets but process near zero of the percentage)? Because our dumbasses in our govt decided our ecological impacts are too dangerous to the environment? Do you think China gives two chits about the environment? We sold our souls for this stupid logic, and you somehow think this is about business? Seriously, are you working for China?

So you would like better products and more of a selection.

Trade wars work opposite of that.

We don't have a trade stance. That's the problem. We not only have in most cases only one choice, we have an agreement with ONE country to tell us what's best for us. This isn't a trade war, this is a half-dead dog looking for a snack to get him through the day. And YOU are all about it!

I am for freedom and opportunity. We need to support entrepreneurs, not massive corporations.

Sooo, it's safe to say you don't care about the Chinese controlling markets, but it's a concern for you that massive corporations control markets.

How is that different?

They control markets because our own govt has made labor and regulations too expensive here.

The way to fix govt mistakes isnt to double down.

We thought Japanese cars were crap, until Reagan put quotas on them, and they stepped up their game.
