General American population knowledge on Iran and this conflict

Just curious if others have had any experiences with coworkers or family that had zero idea what was happening?

Before the war broke out, there was a Facebook video of Iranians protesting in a downtown location. It was posted by a right leaning account. The comments were 90% negative. They thought the protest was against the USA. Many chimed in to clarify and many still didn't understand.

I have seen countless interviews and posts from left leaning individuals that Iran is in their prayers against the evil USA and that they pray Iran can hold out against the bad guys trying to take over their country. Completely clueless about the nature of Iran and the wishes of the vast majority of the citizens.

Anyone else have these experiences with the general population?

Yes, I get that less than 20% could probably find it on a map.
