The fact that Venezuela is resource rich is relevant but the timeline is more like:

Venezula had resources.

Our people invested.

Venezuela elected communists and seized our investments.

We sanctioned them.

Venezuela became impoverished and their leaders clamped down.

We waited patiently.

Venezuela began allying with our geopolitical foe in a very tense global environment.

We captured their leader and bombed Chavez’ grave to send a message.

The clip is accurate, with one caveat. With it being Hollywood they had to frame the "bad president" as a nationalist conservative and the "good" opposition leader as a commie fighting for "social justice."

When in fact the exact opposite is true. Chavez and Maduro were both communists. Typical Hollywood - they will never admit socialism is bad.

Jack and a couple other guys stormed the presidential palace, overpowered the Venezuelan security forces and took out the evil right wing dictator. Very simple operation actually.
