First. Thanks to the University for their suspension, but in the case of "elite" athletes they will continue to play.

In past Generations they would have been jailed with no help from the President as they should be. Young people today just shrug their shoulders and say " just a kid"
While I hope they regret their decision, a valuable lesson is not learned

I an a witness. You will not be forgotten

Saw this morning that the school is debating between a half season suspension to a season long suspension. I commented yesterday that the NCAA should be overseeing this debacle. Some guy responded to me the NCAA shouldn't be in the "enforcement" business. I say he is totally wrong. Why? Because these students could transfer to an FCS or D2 level ball team and never miss a game. UCLA's punishment wouldn't mean jackshit in my scenario.

Technically, they would still get to play ball without any repercussion for their crimes.

It would have to be to a D2 team. FCS and FBS are both D1 for basketball and transferring to a non-football school like Gonzaga or Wichita State won’t make them eligible immediately.

In fact, if they are suspended while they transfer they lose a year of eligibility under current rules.
