Why is it that all of the solutions automatically jump to more gun control when we don’t even know what the problem is? You want to take away the tool used to commit these atrocities, but we still have no idea why these people are driven to commit the acts. Wouldn’t it be prudent to determine the cause of the acts before we do anything to restrict our freedoms?

I do. The kid was not even living with his parents. This is a major problem in this country. Children born out of wedlock or parents who don't give two craps about their kids. Kid was starving for attention and snapped when his GF dumped him.

I’m starting to think that the coverage of these events drives some of it. Of course the people are deranged to want to cause mass death and carnage. But they are made into celebrities by constant media coverage
There’s also today’s society and it’s lack of respect for life. That can’t help either. Social media and technology paired with a generation of bad parenting has produced a lot of little sociopaths with no grasp on reality.
