Because they found that it causes more clicks and traffic to those sites.

If you have a good idea for a social media / networking / friends site on the internet, now would be a good time to get if off the ground because Facebook is about to nosedive.

Yeah, I have a Facebook account but haven’t updated it since the day I opened the account 8 years ago. Furthermore young people don’t use Facebook.

And they are replacing it with a "related stories" option.

My guess is they are going to link to a bunch of politifact, HuffPo, and snopes articles anytime a red pill is shared on Facebook.

That will backfire as well.
