Even with social media, could a mayor in 2021 do to a big city what Rudy did to NYC?

What would it take to clean up a NYC or a Chicago? Even a Baltimore or a Cleveland? No, I’m not “that’s bait gif”. Whoever the mayor is will have to find a way to make minorities a part.

Social media of course is the equalizer. Spins galore.

First off, it would take a certain portion of the population to actually give a shite about cleaning up the cities and voting accordingly...

Yeah, if memory serves the next two candidates were Anthony Weiner and some black female communist.

Sure, history has shown us that virtually anything can happen when things get bad enough.

I think we need a brand new system. Almost Confucian-like where we give the smartest people who could understand well rounded Civic matters, etc. the jobs in government. From mayors to state senators to the top. That would require major major overhaul. Maybe it would backfire? The Greeks used a lottery system of 500 random people elected to lead and when time was up...new 500.

I’m just trying to figure out what could work but it’s obvious what needs to change and that is our government. I still want to keep separation of powers. I just think we need a new system within that framework. Won’t happen. But it should.
