No, the border has been open to disease for a while. The GOP wants to make a big issue about this when they know the blame is being placed on Obama. They border invasion was swept under the rug from 1992-2013 because it wasn't politically beneficial for the GOP to say anything about it.

No one is going to do shite about the border, period. If someone who snuck in from Mexico blows up a coffee shop, it will get covered up how they got into the country. The dems see the illegals as undocumented democrats, and the GOP sees them as low wage labor that will keep costs down for the CEOs and other high level donors who don't want to pay you shite (thanks Chamber of Commerce). No one is going to close the border, and any party that tells you they want to solve it is lying to you. They know by the time you figure out that they just allowed 20 guys to come in who can do your job for 1/2 the price (either as an illegal unskilled worker or an H-1B skilled worker) that you will only have 1/20th of the voting power you had before, and they don't need to give a shite about you anymore anyway. Why should they when they have 20 votes they just got from the new citizens they just imported?

Now's the time to either start a small business (if you can handle the red tape) or immigrate to a country and take some Swiss or Norwegian's job for 1/2 the price they are charging.

This might well be true of the GOP, but, to the extent that it is, this underscores the need for GOP reform on this issue.

We can have secure borders and welcome legal immigrants at the same time.

The point of my thread is that I do not trust Obama's gang to get this problem corrected and solved. They are untrustworthy, incompetent and Stoneheaded -- committed to their ideology no matter how much harm is caused.
