You assume that at the uber high level to which you refer there is actually a discernible "left" versus "right". That it's not essentially the same association of people and motivations, wherein, unbeknownst to us, they work "together" much more frequently and closely than any of us would be comfortable with....and of course our welfare and best interests certainly not being high atop their list of priorities.
