There might be a few, but none of them are capable of winning. McCarthy, for whatever any of us think of him, is capable of garnering enough support to win.

Why would he do this? Why even take the chance and weaken himself with his supporters? He’s endorsed by 90% of the republicans. If someone else wants the job that’s up to them to come and take it.

I’m sympathetic to the holdouts and they’ve done what they can realistically do here. They are not in a true position of authority and power brokering. But they are a definite thorn in the side of the establishment. I like that. But the numbers aren’t there for them to fully dictate things. They’ve used their ability to stop the establishment in order to get concessions. That’s all they’ve ever been able to do and they’ve done that to the best of their abilities. They should be saluted for that. But until they have far greater numbers this is the best you can hope for. Primary season is when you go RINO hunting. Now our various factions have to come together and we’re seeing that happen. It’s a good thing.
