I know the knee-jerk is to think about W's military service records, but my first thought on Dan Rather's bias in reporting will always default to 1988's The Wall Within.
Rather CBS hitjob on GHWB in 1988.

quote:Obama’s family timber makes him kin to at least eight American presidents. Named with the common ancestors, they are: James Madison [Edwin and Martha (Eltonhead) Conway], Woodrow Wilson [Edward and Elizabeth (Blossom) FitzRandolph], Harry Truman [Mareen Duvall], Gerald Ford [Joseph and Rose (Allen) Holley], Lyndon Johnson [Phillip and Maria (Schmidt) Ament], Jimmy Carter [Adrian and Mary (Disharoone) Gordy], George Bush Sr. and George Bush Jr. [Gov. Thomas and Mary (Richards) Hinckley]. Dick Cheney is also a Mareen Duvall descendant.
If your bloodline is right and the elite believe you can go on TV and con, errrr, sell their agenda to the sheople, yes - anyone can become President.
Obama does not have the bloodline, but he is solid on the rest.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, historian and genealogical publisher, Rosemary E. Bachelor, further documents that Obama does have European royalty- “from Edward Fitz Randolph back to William I, King of Scots, and from Martha Eltonhead back to Edward I, King of England.

quote:It is beyond naive to expect that everyone in society is going to behave with honesty and integrity.
you don't expect your doctor, your pharmacist, the teacher of your children, your dry cleaner, journalists, any merchant that you trust, to be honest and have integrity and you don't think that is a standard that should be applied in society?
Yes, I believe it is a standard that should be applied. I'm not gullible enough to actually believe it's a standard that actually is applied.
I realize that it's gotten me a label of "conspiracy kook" from many on this board, but I just don't trust habitual criminals. Call me crazy.

Dan Rather always seemed like he had an unlikable personality. Something about him always rubbed me the wrong way, and it had nothing to do with anything political.
