This is where we take our country back. There is no Left as we know it today without the censorship of silicon valley. This is the battlefield of the 2nd Civil War and Burt Kavenbaw is about to do a kegger at Tobin’s all over the faces of the dirty SJW censoring traitors of this country.
Supreme Court agrees to hear a case that could determine whether Facebook, Twitter and other social media companies can censor their users
quote:
The case, Manhattan Community Access Corp. v. Halleck, No. 17-702, centers on whether a private operator of a public access television network is considered a state actor, which can be sued for First Amendment violations.
The case could have broader implications for social media and other media outlets. In particular, a broad ruling from the high court could open the country's largest technology companies up to First Amendment lawsuits.

Government controlling private companies creates a slippery slope. I hate how twitter censors the right, but I don't want the government involved in their business

this
I do not want the government controlling private company behavior no matter how much I hate that behavior. This is a door I'd much rather not crack open for them.

I agree with you, however I love the irony of the government forcing left leaning organizations to be free.
They want the government to tell you what to do, BOOM Bitches!!!

I don’t think assuring that freedom of speech still means something equals “controlling” the private company. There are far more regulations placed on those same companies by that same government and you don’t consider they control those private companies now.

The irony isn't lost on me. I just don't like the precedent it sets. This is like Harry Reid going nuclear only to have it boomerang 5 years later

^ this is the ony correct answer. Let the loonie left be the party that demands that the government step in and squash the rights of others.
I don't believe the government has the right to tell a private business who they must serve, whether they are are discriminating by race, by gender, by native language, or by political persuasion. It's THEIR business, they have the right, not the customer.

Dictating their company policies through force is the issue, not 1A

You're a crazy sumbitch.
Gotta love "conservatives" wanting more regulations.

Yeah, it's dumb.
Calling them out on their biased treatment is more effective and doesn't allow them to play the victim card while also not getting the govt involved

You are not owed freedom of speech by a private entity. The Freedom of Speech only limits government action. By forcing a private company to give someone a platform to speak, the government is controlling the company.
Also, the article in the OP is making a pretty significant leap from the merits of that case and the government's ability to censor social media giants.

If they could they’d train them all like you.

Obviously you extend this same feeling toward the government for having control over every restaurant in our country by forcing them to not turn away blacks.
