That's how a liar gets away with telling a lie. The liar sticks the lie in between a bunch of truths and that makes the lie appear to be the truth because everything else is the truth.

President Trump never said he had a tape of their private meeting.
He just told Comey he better hope there isn't a tape of the meeting which could also mean President Trump was referring to the possibility the IC or someone else was secretly taping the meeting.
Here's what's going to happen now.
The Dums and the MSM are going to say President Trump has a tape of the meeting and if President Trump refuses to release the tape or say whether he taped the meeting then that proves President Trump taped the meeting but is refusing to release the tape because it will prove that Comey is telling the truth about what President Trump said to Comey during the meeting.

If Trump said the same thing - the media would have attached a commentary that the statement was without proof.
