Colorado Appellate Court Reverses Excessive Sentence in Tina Peters Case

The Colorado appellate court found the trial judge had imposed an excessive sentence by relying on improper considerations. The court, predictably, affirmed on all other grounds. This is not the last stop for this case, however. It will appealed to Colorado’s supreme court and then likely to the US Supreme Court.
If Governor Polis were smart, he’d commute the sentence and try to put this miscarriage of justice to bed quietly.
