Can any of you Virginians explain the gas station slot machine deal?

I've been here 2 days and there seems to be a sizable war going on between gas stations and "the big casinos". Tia

I need glasses, I read Vegas instead of Virginia.
So here is my rant comparing Vegas and Mississippi/Louisiana Regulations
Vegas and Nevada are very liberal when it comes to locating slot machines.
Unlike Louisiana or Mississippi that put so many restrictions as far as locations and needing other permits in addition to a gaming license, Nevada is much simpler and are in many locations including grocery stores. In Mississippi, you also have to ensure that you are going to build the casino with a certain hotel class and attractions in addition to the casino. Then in Louisiana you have regulations such as the number of casino licenses and dealing with locals officials on local option. Video Poker has regulations on fuel sales and number of machines.
Heck, some hotels in Vegas with out casinos have “permits” for gaming but do not have a casino floor or slot machines full time. They setup a temporary casino for a few hours on one day out the year to keep the license so their property has more value if and when they sell.

I stayed at a hotel in Montana that had cinderblock walls. Nice people running it, was clean.
Couple blocks away there was a bowling alley serving whiskey but not beer and a Dairy Queen with a casino in the back.

Only game of chance at a Dairy Queen in the south is when they flip the Blizzard.
Luckily most of the time, it sticks to the cup.
