There is for California. They use a special gasoline that is no longer made in the US., other than what is refined in California. There was a substantial thread about this when Phillip 66 announced they were finished refining in California late last year. Their leaving California removed 8-20% of California's refined gasoline. To replace this gas, as mentioned, they have to import from Asian countries that actually refine their blend, just a few.

They do have gasoline issues and if they don't relax some of their special needs it'll get worse.
Oh BTW, Valero has called it quits in Cali and Chevron moved HQ to Texas after 145 years in Cali. Oil companies have been leaving California.

Don't they have a plan to ban the ICE engine. They don't need any fuel.

No one in California is talking about us running out of fuel. I would love to see the state ramp up oils production but it won’t happen.
