Gov. Bobby Jindal announced today that Rodney Alexander is stepping down as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs. Alexander was appointed to the job after resigning from the U.S. House of Representatives in August 2013. Jindal today appointed David LaCerte, the department's former deputy secretary, as Alexander's replacement. While a reason for Alexander's resignation was not announced by Jindal's office, Alexander previously has hinted that he might consider running for governor in 2015, or even running for his old seat in Congress to replace the embattled Vance McAllister, who has announced that he won't run for reelection. "I am sorry to see Secretary Alexander step down from his post," Jindal says. "Rodney has dedicated his life to public service. He has served our state with honor and integrity, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Louisiana hasn't had any real leadership since Mitchell Guist died.

If he's smart, trying to run as far away from this scam as possible.
From what I understand, that one year Alexander "served" as VA Secretary under Jindal just helped him rake in alot more state retirement dollars.

That was exactly what I thought was going on when he quit Congress.
Egg on Jindal's face. He couldn't even get his guy elected after clearing the seat for him. But you can't say Booby isn't a quick learner---now he has the Duck Dynasty endorsement.
(Do you think Duch Dynasty has "jumped the shark"? surely it can't keep it's ratings another year as corny as it is. I guess if the rating get to bad they can move it to some rinky dink network and keep the film subsidies coming.)
Of course there was

According to the twitter feed of a BR Advocate reporter, Rodney is stepping down too take a job as a lobbyist for former Jindal staffer Paul Rainwater.
So Jindal/Alexander/Riser worked out a deal to give Rodney a chush state job in exchange for Riser, who already had a campaign staff ready to go, the advantage to winning in a special election.
A year later, Rodney, after shoring up some more state retirement dollars, leaves to join former Jindal guy as a lobbyist.
Anyone who still thinks Bobby Jindal is some great breath of fresh air for Louisiana in terms of ethics and honor is either brainwashed or a complete idiot.

Is this true? It would be interesting when all that hits the courts. You do have proof I am sure or you wouldn't just come out and say it?
Most of a lot of talk is mostly speculation. Is this what this is?

Well, the whole state retirement thing is based on the average salary of your last 3 or 5 years. This year of a $100k+ position just caused his average to jump up.
How would this be a matter for the courts?

I think that the old moniker 'public servant', has become a tad misleading. The best we can hope for is that they don't run the ship up on the rocks. Depressing...really.
Some day.
Go Rajun Cajuns! That loss will help them.
