Agreed. I was just thinking about that this morning. The meme of the Patriot who fought England for a 2% tax vs the modern American who was content to give up 40%. What would life be like if we had our entire paycheck?

This is why it pisses me off to no end when Trump misrepresents the NRST when he takes swipes at Desantis. "He wants to add a 23% tax to everything you buy..."
That's hella misleading when it would be practically an even swap for embedded corporate income taxes that are already baked in to what we currently pay at the register, AFTER Uncle Sam's prima nocte withe your earnings.
