"I remember the hatred and cruel treatment of black Americans in Selma, AL on the Edmund Pettis bridge in 1965. I was close friends with several Klansmen including Senator Byrd, I know the how these racist people think and behave, no, I'm not joking, it's not something I would joke about. I was dear friends with a high ranking Klansman in the US Senate. I know it sounds crazy to say now but Senator Byrd was a good man.....anyway, if you don't vote Democrat you ain't black....I mean it!"
