I was on a flight years ago from Miami to Trinidad. The woman next to me was from NYC, she got quite the kick out of my southern accent and living in Trinidad. She had started with the NYC police department and now worked for the DEA. She was flying down to do something with business and on to Columbia (I didnt ask).

We talked for hours, I told her I had a brother in law in the city and visited once in a while. When we were deboarding she gave me a wink and said in her Bronx accent "here give this to your BIL, short of manslaughter, he wont have any problems in the city". It was a laminated card showing support for the "benevolent association of the police of NYC".

Some things in NYC you cant help but love.
