This has the premise that ugly people actually realize that they are ugly. They did when I was growing up. They tended to be reserved and tried to compensate by being very polite.
But today I'm not so sure. There has been such a movement of teaching 'Everyone is Beautiful' from childhood that ugly people have never experienced someone calling them ugly to their face. They would be shocked.

I'm glad you asked. It is detrimental to society as a whole. It discourages human social interaction. It creates an atmosphere of unfriendlyness, discomfort and unease. Not to mention the wearers are suppressing their bodies own natural immune system and putting themselves at increased risk for upper respiratory illness. The constant maskers are the super spreaders. They are overwhelming our hospital emergency rooms.
Also, they are making it more challenging for the rest of us. I can not hear or communicate appropriately with my local bank tellers through their masks and the plexiglass.
At restaurants I do not want to be reminded of a virus that peaked 3 years ago. I will ask for a different section if my server presents at my table masked. I want to enjoy my evening and not be constantly reminded of all that is bad.
And...a paper or cloth mask does nothing to protect anyone from a bioweapon.

Nut why are you concerned with someone wearing a mask?
It affects you how?
It doesn't have much, if any effect, on me. That doesn't mean it isn't a curiosity or even something worth mocking.
If I saw someone literally wearing a tin foil hat, it wouldn't affect me, but I would laugh my arse off and probably start a thread about it.
Would you feel the need to ask how wearing tin foil hats affects me?
And FWIW, I suspect people wearing tin foil hats would also be unattractive.

All I know is that at one point during Covid when the women were masking and wearing the big sunglasses at the same time they could’ve been space aliens and I would’ve never known for the lack of face showing.
It was like visiting a strict Muslim nation or something.
