re: Abortion as a political issue

Anyone who says this is simply a pussy and afraid to articulate the argument. This is the main issue, it is a rather easy debate once you force the Democrat to define what is inside the mother's womb. Alot of people still do not understand that a human life is being ended when an abortion occurs. The right has sucked at articulating our side.

Answer this question and I will move on.
If you stick a scalpel in your neighbors brain and kill him, that's murder.
If you stick a scalpel in the brain of a fully developed unborn and kill it, why is that not murder.
A simple explanation will do.
Shhh, we need to let it go! We need to lower Wal Mart's corporate tax rate! We need to kill off our children so we can import new ones from the 3rd world. This is more important!

Thats fine. All you conservatives do is cry like women and take Ls all the time over this
The message is its a states right and please tell us why it needs to be a national law

It's an obvious political issue, but at the state level. Anytime Trump is asked about it, he should simply reply that abortion is and always was a state issue based on The Constitution, which is still the supreme law of the land.

You are correct.

This only works for the pro-life people. That's the problem.
Trump could do a lot worse than saying it's a state's rights issue, don't get me wrong, but its' not a good sell for the moderates he needs to win.

It should be outlawed everywhere because it's murder. But I realize that's not in the cards currently.
I already said above I understand the need to be pragmatic about it. At the moment the focus on the national level is allocation of resources to pro-life efforts and removal of resources towards abortion efforts.

As long as a sizeable portion of the GOP says things like this, the entire GOP will be associated with this stance.
You can dislike it, rage, melt, or default to fatalism, but it doesn't change the facts.

Trump doesn't have a moderate problem. He has a base problem. He lost with white men, evangelicals, and Catholics in 2020. Politics doesn't work the way you seem to think they do.

Did you not read my entire post? Or are you purposely trying to clip me out of context?
I acknowledge certain political realities. And accept that as the reality.
With that said, your side is wither moving the football to the right or the left. The neutral zone doesn't exist like many Republicans would like.

I'm telling you all that matters to moderates.
I understand you're trying to inject nuance, but it's irrelevant to the big picture. Do you want me to edit that post to make that clear?

Only fatalists and social conservatives believe this.

SDV is right on this and if you were around TDS women for any period of time you would understand it.

From the other thread
Abortion is this on steroids, and it's not located just to Trump....and people aren't "stupid heads" they're some form of evil. But it's the same digression.
That's why you see people like BB trying to claim Trump has a turnout problem, because then they don't have to budge on the issue.
quote:
When Trump engages in bad strategy, the response is always "only the stupidest stupid heads would disagree with Trump" which leads to "we are doomed as a country if there are this many stupid heads disagreeing with Trump".

These batshit cat ladies aren't coming to Trump if he starts talking soft on abortion. What's the strategy here?

Not all women with TDS are this caricature you're creating.
Many are moderate, normal, people. The same women who got Youngkin elected in 2021, in a blue state.

Well your strategy is very clear. To lose

And when they do lose, to then claim it's not worth winning and that America is doomed/about to have a civil war.
