Remember - we started the week with Sleepy wandering off script and saying during some event that (paraphrasing) "Everyone knows somebody who had compromising nudes taken, and got blackmailed with them."
Then the NYT comes out and grudgingly admits the Hunter laptop story is legit.
They're absolutely trying to get out ahead of something. Besides, Hunter's under at least one tax-related investigation, potentially more from the US Attorney in Delaware.

Yeah it’s definitely too random to not be a sign of something potentially significant. And I say that as a hardcore Occamist and cynic.
