It's patterns, if large groups of black people are known to attack single white people, then white people will react.

If large groups of white people are known to attack single black people (as was known during Jim Crow) then black people will react.

There didn't need to be an amazingly high number of lynchings in Jim Crow south (and north) for black people to develop an institutionalized hostility towards white people, one that didn't go away when the lynchings stopped.

If this keeps continuing then white people will start behaving in a more racial way, the same way as black people act in a racial way.

Not the direction that we want to be going as a nation.
