His statement didn't cause the divide. He was lambasted for stating what was taking place.

No president in my lifetime has made a point of actively dividing the nation as Obama has done during his years in office. How many of his speeches are outright "us and them" rhetoric that pits one group against another? What he seems to forget is that the "them" he speaks of are Americans too.

Sorry, but Romney, for any shortcomings you may want to attribute to him, was not a divider during the campaign and I doubt if he would have governed in that manner.
