I've seen many people do it...restrained and all. You would be surprised at how many little old sick people become Houdini on a vent. Also, there is an inflated cuff on the end of that tube...damn near like pulling a golfball out through your vocal cords.

Almost 30 years working in hospitals and I've never heard that phrase. Perhaps it was "twilight drugs"? That's old school terminology...never heard of it causing nightmarish visions though.
