With the draft later and so many positional question marks, my first mock is at the latest ever. (I hear the applause from the back row). Byrd diminishes any chance of Haha or Pryor being the #27 IMO. The Byrd signing was so huge I'm not anticipating any free agent starters coming in at RT, C, or CB. They may get more bodies but doubt it could be a big splash. There could be some legitimacy of them liking Lelito & Harris at C & RT enough to be the next man up starters. For those positions you still might find upgrades past the 1st Rd anyway. I don't doubt they take a WR at some point but don't rank the need nearly as high as many here. Of course there are usually some 1st Rd trades but mocking those is even crazier than regular mocks, so I don't do those.

1Texans Bortles QB
2Rams Robinson OT this pick highly likely for trade
3Jags Clowney DE
4Browns Watkins WR
5Raiders Matthews OT
6dirty birds Mack LB
7bucs Lewan OT
8Vikings Manziel QB
9Bills Evans WR
10Lions Gilbert CB
11Titans Dennard CB
12Giants Martin OL slight stretch for need
13Rams Clinton-Dix S
14Bears Barr LB
15Steelers Mosley LB
16cowgirls Donald DT
17Ravens Lee WR
18Jets Ebron TE
19Dolphins Moses OT need trumps BPA here
20Cardinals Nix DT
21Packers Pryor S
22Eagles Verrett CB
23Chiefs Cooks WR
24Bengals Ealy DE/LB
25Chargers Roby CB
26Browns Bridgewater QB

27 Saints
In this scenario the choice pool for me would be :
WRs Benjamin or Beckham
LBs Ford, Shazier or Attaochu
CB Fuller

Let's keep building this new defensive powerhouse. I go
KYLE FULLER CB VIRGINIA TECH
6-0 193
He could be a Day One starter on a defensive backend that would be set for years to come

#58
WIDE RECEIVER
No one name here cuz I could envision that either Allen Robinson Penn St or Jordan Matthews Vandy could be around. Great value here

#91
CENTER
Same thing here except there could be more than two left out of Swanson, Richburg, Martin, & Stork. All starter upgrades over dlP IMO

4th Rd
BILLY TURNER OL NORTH DAKOTA STATE
He's no secret anymore but the Saints can scout the hell out of small school potential

5th Rd
#150 from philly
JACK MEWHORT OL OHIO ST
Love his versatility, can line up at every OL position

#155
DEVONTA FREEMAN RB FLORIDA ST
Darren who? He even runs low like Sprolesy

6th Rd
MAX BULLOUGH LB MICHIGAN ST
need some fresh ILB blood infusion

The last three years I have gotten a Saints pick early- Jordan 2011, Hicks 2012, & Jenkins 2013. Which of these are you seeing as a most likely fit?

I'd be damn happy with that draft.
Maybe get a WR in the 1st and CB in the 2nd but everything else looks great.

Good job Blues.

You really think Bridgewater goes to 26? That seems late.

He just did. The 5th rd, 150 overall is the only extra one.

This would pretty much be the perfect draft. I feel like one out of the Brotles/Manziel/Bridgewater will fall late 1st/early 2nd, so I agree there too.

there's a lot of 2011 looking QBs in this draft to me.
#8 Locker
#10 Gabbert
#12 Ponder

They may be the top of the board but that doesn't mean they justify 1st Rd selection. I think teams recognize that and most will go later. Like Cleveland waiting until #26 rather than using the #4.

Me too, I don't like any of the QB's projected to go high this year. But in the end, the NFL is the NFL and teams will take the risk. If one of the 3 fall deep into the 20's I'll be completely shocked. Much more hype around these guys, for whatever reason, than the Geno Smith's and Brady Quinn's of the world. Hope you're right though, just to see the shock waves among the Kiper's and McShay's.

I would take that but I think it goes down a little different.

I really think we go WR in the first Blues just from the things Sean has said and the people he has really spent time with. JMHO

Even though you said some off the wall unnecessary stuff to me the other day, I must say this is legit.

I don't think we draft 3 o-linemen. I'd guess we get a defensive lineman (probably DT) at some point as well to go with a WR, CB, 2 OL, LB.

I hope I'm not 5 QBs vs, 3 going before #27 means two more guys we could be interested in pushed down the board

Is it known yet why bullough was suspended?

I want Cooks badly. I would be shocked if they don't go CB or WR in the first, unless they do something else in FA here. The WR class is so deep that they might go after the CB in the 1st and get the WR in the 2nd.

nothing as of his pro day on tuesday

“It’s something that I brought upon myself,” said Bullough, who has publicly declined to disclose the reason for his suspension. “It’s a mistake that I made and I apologized to my team, I talked to my team, but we’re past that. Myself, my team, the (NFL) teams, coach (Mark Dantonio), we’re all past that. We’re moving forward.

Blues, what are your thoughts on Fuller? From what I read on him, he seems to be considered more of a zone CB than man, which has me crossing him off of my want list for 27.
