Nah. Anchored threads defeat the purpose of season threads meant to encourage discussion.

I don't see the current amount of season long threads as anything that won't simply work itself in the natural progression of posting once there's actually news other than transfers/roster movement.

Exactly. Now that preseason and Olympics are starting, the board will become more active again.

You could still post in the anchored threads whenever you wanted. It would just take one more click to get there.
I know the number will decrease some, but I think that we will still about 1/4 of the first page be season long threads at most times.

Why isn't Tottenham listed first?
Posted on 7/20/12 at 8:52 pm to WarSlamEagle
It would work but the admins will never do it.
They probably won't give a reason why. They just won't.

Who is the soccer board admin?
Posted on 7/20/12 at 8:56 pm to Atom-Z
I don't know. Chicken? Baloo? That's my two best guesses.

I'd rather keep things the way they are. During the season when you have much more active discussion, the topics are more varied. It worked out fine the last two seasons, and I'm not sure we need a reason to change.

Yeah, the season long threads have been cluttering up the board for two seasons now, but I figured I'd be in the minority if I complained.
That, and the admins will never do anything so no point to complain.

Obviously you could post, but it discourages posting in the thread. I am active in most of the season threads because I know when someone submits a new post. Once those threads get anchored, my views will never leave the Liverpool page.

Really? Two threads clutter the front? Why would you want us to start new threads for every rumor or stupid Twitter post we see? Serious question.

I disagree. We should discuss this before someone starts anchoring threads. Like I said, during the season, it works out. Anchoring the threads and setting them up through a post will just lead to things being posted on the board that once would go in the season long threads, because the system proposed is rather tedious. Basically, in this system (as I understand it), I have to go to three different pages to get to the last page of the season long thread. How is that better than if I just click on the exact page of the season long thread that I want to go to?
You might reply that it clutters the board, but I'd argue that clutter is only because the season hasn't started in earnest yet, and because everyone has started the season long threads at the same time.

There are ten on the front page.

There are ten on the front page.
But during the season, there are usually only two, Arsenal and Liverpool, who have the most active posters on this board.
