I'd take this scenario in a heartbeat.
If we're number 1, why would we want to go to Atlanta and play a potential top-10 team?

See, the thing about your #1 ranking is this: A)It's never even in your hoggiest dreams going to happen no matter what happens Friday. And B) When LSU dispatches Georgia for the final game of the season, voters will choose who goes to the NCG. And they sure as shite ain't gonna choose a team that barely got by Ole Miss and Vandy. They'll base their decision on the whole season, not just one game. As awful as that sounds to you.
But all of this is moot. LSU 44-20 Friday. And 0 little piggies here for 9 months after that.

If Arkansas is ranked #1, it will be Arkansas in the SEC-C or Bama if they are ranked #2.

The SEC CG will mean squat if it doesn't involve LSU or Alabama. I know this troubles you, but it's a 12 game season, see? Voters will vote for the resume, not the fluke game.
Which, oh by the way, ain't gonna happen. You can play your BEST game Friday, and it won't matter.

Sure, it would hurt the #1 team being Arkansas to play in the game, but it helps the 2nd ranked Alabama and 8th ranked LSU.
