Would Wildlife and Fisheries care about my Bald Eagle sighting today?

I saw one in NWLa where they are more rare than in South La. It was in the absolute middle of nowhere where no one lives.
I know they survey them and keep up with them so wondering if they would have any interest since I saw it in such a remote place.

Possibly, if it's in a location they aren't normally seen anyway.
The birds are so common in SLA now, I doubt they would care down here.

I figured that but this was well away from any areas I’ve heard of for nesting in NWLa. Not near any lakes where a few pairs have set up shop. Absolute middle of nowhere.
I have driven the back roads of NWLa every day, all day for 10 years and only the second sighting I’ve experienced. Always a thrill.
He was as big as a Lab and didn’t even spook when I broke hard and got out to video him.

They have become pretty common up here. I see them all the time on Toledo and Grand Bayou.
You should watch them feed on coots...thats a trip

They are not as uncommon as you may think there. Also, it’s likely it could be a winter migrant down from up North as cold as it’s been.
LAWLF wouldn’t really care much about the sighting. EBird sight would.

Sheet we had some whooping cranes a few times and they didn't seem to care much.
We also see a lot of bald eagles so I'm doubt they care about them to answer your question.

I know of a nest north of town. They get fidgety when you walk under it, too.

I see them almost every time I go fishing these days, on our lakes around Shreveport.

Send sighting information to Hillary Thompson (hthompson@savingcranes.org)
I assure you she will care.

Is it the ones off of Hwy. 2 near the bridge?

No. A couple of miles out of Fryeburg in Bienville Parish on 516. Middle of nowhere.

I sent her this picture I took and she knew these exact birds by the orientation of the bands on their legs. ( pair 14-08 and 24-08 )

Saw one off the Bistineau dam Saturday.
One near Fryeburg might be travelling between Kepler and Bistineau.
