Would hogs kill a Jack Russell Terrier? (Coyotes v. Hogs as culprit question)

One of my sister's Jack Russell's (as it always seems to happen, the best one) was killed going between my Dad's house and my sister's place (about a 1/2 mile distance).

She thinks coyotes got her (and I generally agree) but I was wondering if hogs would kill a dog that wasn't going after them (and not eat it)?

are you sure it wasn't shot? I would think hogs would eat it.

I got more information and wasn't told a key fact - the dog was found down in a grove of trees near where a couple of dead cows are (flooding victims). Coyotes had been going down to eat the cow remains. So, definitely looks like coyotes.

It wasn't shot. All of the land around where the dog was found is family land.

I would think the pup would get away from hogs, but not yotes.

Hogs get smart when you use them for an extended period. It can work but it doesn’t always

So, that wouldnt deter me. Kill any and all by any means necessary. Or your land will pay the price in the long run

Hate to hear this. Jack Russells are awesome little dogs. My big arse pit is down to come frick up the accused. I typically don't have a problem with coyotes, but will frick them up if they tread too far

Is this perhaps Bigfoot territory? Could be your culprit.

Maybe, but I agree that coyotes are more likely. However, same evidentiary problem - why didn't they eat it?

Now, he could have gotten chippy with the hogs (or coyotes) and got killed for his trouble.

Was this in broad daylight? If so, I'd suspect another dog or, maybe, a bobcat.
