Spyderco has that h1 steel. Something else to look at but its out of ur price range and prolly too big to carry is the ak47 knife. It can be opened as it comes out of your pocket. Pretty cool.

I currently carry a couple of Benchmade's. A Benchmade Rift is my last model. I really like Rick Henderer knives and Strider knives if you can afford them..

I am old school about what makes a good knife. It ain't the pretty or cool factor, its the steel in the blade.
IMO, you won't find any better steel than a Case with Chrome Vanadium blades. I have a yellow handled trapper I have been carrying around every day for the last 11 years. It has been a damn good one. Their lock backs are of the same quality.
The Case may not have the "cool factor" of Spyderco, Kershaw or others, but they will last you a lifetime.
This is the knife I carry, on a site that specializes in selling US made knives.

Don't get me wrong, I have a desk drawer full of knives from any and every manufacturer and country, but as long as they still make them, my everyday pocket knife will be a Case.

Depends on it's purpose and tasks. For unrivaled strength and ease of sharpening 1090 or 1005 is hard to beat. For hardness and edge retention it's hard to beat s30v, d2, vg1, vg10, 154cm, zdp 189, Sandvik 14c28n, cpm s110v and a few others would blow chrome vanadium out of the water.
