Yep it is very antique. I slept in it when I was a baby as did my mother and her brothers. My great uncle had an antique shop in New Orleans about 50-60 years ago and it came from his shop. I have no idea exactly how old it is, my uncle made the comment the other day that King Louie XIV may have slept in it

Wow. That is gorgeous. We have one in the family that five generations have used, but it is very simple, nothing as ornate as yours. Awesome!

No problem. I'm not into antiques and although it may be cool to know where it originated, I'm just happy to be able to share something with my daughter that so many of my family members have used at one time or another.
Now I can't wait until she can shoot her late PawPaw's old Browning .22 auto, that will be a great day!
