(FWIW, I hunt both boxs and climbers)

Ah. Two guys that dont have kids. I would rather be in a ladder or climber myself but just hardly ever go without my son. Seeing him kill deer trumps any I have ever killed

Haha, I like being in the element, makes the experience a lot better. Makes you appreciate the sport more because you have to actually stay still and watch you're every move. No argument here...to each his own.

You're right...no kids and don't plan on it anytime soon. However. I could imagine what'd it be like to see your own son shooting deer. I'm sure I'll be selling my climbers and lock ons one day.

I recently built a 5'x5' box with windows carpet etc. in anticipation of bringing my son hunting. He is 3 so maybe not so much this year but probably next.

Like I said, I have climbers and hunt in those more often then not. However, I do get lazy and like to relax in a box. As you stated, to each his own.

My son is 3 and I decided to bring him on an afternoon hunt a couple of weeks ago. We got to the stand and I had him sitting on my lap. 10 minutes later he passed out so I put him sleeping on the floor and he slept for 2 hours. When he woke up, I picked him up and sat him back on my lap..... 10 - 15 minutes later a doe and button buck walked out about 50 yards from us. We watched them eat for about 15 minutes and then I shot..... and missed. But, talk about an excited little man. It was tough on me because I had to lift my leg up for him to be able to see them, had my left arm around the top of his head up against my chest so he wouldn't move and gun in one hand to shoot. It was awesome though, he asked me for a couple of days if we were going to go back and find that deer.
