6 weight rod (shitty rod). I think the reel cost somewhere around $100

that's the one I was at. The Germantown Charity Horse Show.
We park the trailers at the HS. Our hunter/jumper stuff goes on during the day then at night they have the Walkers and "wiggle tails" as we call them (Saddlebreds). I went this summer for the first time in 11 years. I love it up there.

Anyway back on topic. You should get into fly fishing. It is a blast.
I have still yet to catch a fish on a fly I've tied myself.
I only dabbled into fly tying for a few weeks. It's a damn art for sure.

Probably about a 3# bass Eta (considering a 6 weight rod and 6# leader).
What a hell of a fight.
I haven't salt water fished with a fly rod though. Don't have it set up for that

This pond at the apt, I've caught 2 pretty small bream on a small Rapala crankbait.
I can't wait till it warms up to try the poppers with the fly rod. They are already nipping at my line where it meets the water. You know what that means?!

I've never done it in the winter.
Actually never really freshwater fished in the winter time to be honest.
I've been a couple times the last couple weeks and have had moderate success. At least I didn't get skunked but the spring time is $$$$$$$$$$$$$
