I've walked that pipeline down to the creek once. Guy stopped me when I began and told me I couldn't walk through there (I was on the pipeline). I just looked at him and said
"watch me". Kind of expected a bullet in my back, but it was a bad day. That area really changed since the dam was rebuilt.

Yeah, those guys think they own Claiborne Parish sometimes.

To his credit? he might have been speaking of the woods right next to the pipeline, which are indeed leased out. I was walking the middle and he was standing to the side. I would imagine he watched me until I cleared the private area, idk. I just wasn't in the mood to stop and have a talk. After they made the new dam I boated up as far as could go and got out, thinking I have probably another three quarters mile to stalk to the pipeline. It was about 100 yards. But that area, especially to the west of the creek has always been confusing to me. I have no sense of direction, carry a compose now.

Is Cypress Bottom the same as Middlefork Bayou? I remember many times coming down that hill and the temp changing a good ten degrees.

Toughest job I ever had was right in that area, we meet at some store, me and about half a dozen skinny country boys, I was a bigger city boy gym rat. We hauled hall until about 5 o’clock that afternoon. I still don’t know how they threw those damn bales so high, they kicked my arse. i think I made 25 bucks maybe

Alot of them guys from back then are gone now.
Yeah, I think of that a lot. That is the main reason for this thread. To put just a fraction of their lore out there for a permanent record.
There is a slight chance "Biscuit Thompson" last name was Robinson, but I'm 80% sure on Thompson...wanted to note that.

Middle fork is south of Cypress I am pretty sure. Cypress bottom runs between corney bayou to the north and hwy alt 2 to the south. that's where the bottom sits.
